The camellia exhibition at Chiswick House in London is definitely worth a visit. In the magnificent building and park, which the 3rd Earl of Burlington had built in the neo-Palladian style in the 18th century, you can admire particularly rare species of camellias and varieties from the historical collection in the elegant glass houses. Many of these camellias come from the mother plants that were planted there as early as 1828. Among them is the unique "Middlemist's red", which the breeder John Middlemist brought to England from China in 1804.
My advice:
On the weekend of March 23/24, 2019, camellias drawn from the collection will be available for purchase. A special opportunity.
At the same time, a competition for the most beautiful camellia flowers will take place for visitors on March 23, 2019. Show the jury your most beautiful camellia blossom and win one of the many prizes.
