I bought my first camellia over 20 years ago. At that time I had my office next to the Palmengarten in Frankfurt and regularly visited the various plant exhibitions. This also applies to the camellia exhibition in February. I was enchanted by the blaze of color, the wonderful flower shapes and the elegant habit of the camellias and couldn't decide which of the many I should take home with me. It was difficult to choose the most beautiful camellia from such a variety. For me it became Jury's Yellow, which accompanied me for many years and even endured on our roof terrace during the particularly hot summer of 2003.

This meant I was infected with the camellia virus. Other favorite camellias followed and when I had my own garden and planted more and more, volunteered at camellia exhibitions, visited gardens on many trips and worked for one of the oldest camellia breeders in England, the idea of ​​​​taking a stand for camellias arose and again contribute to their dissemination. Because it is one of the most beautiful cultivated plants that has adorned the gardens of the Far East for over a thousand years and also those of the West since the early 18th century.
