Since the camellias from Duke Adolph of Nassau's plant collection came to Frankfurt from the Biebrich greenhouses in the late 1860s, they have been admired by visitors to the Palmengarten, which was also opened in honor of these wonderful plants from the Far East in 1871.

To this day, a camellia exhibition takes place every year in which the most beautiful of the around 100 varieties of camellias that are otherwise cared for in the Palmengarten nursery are shown.

This year the camellia and azalea exhibition will take place from March 23 to April 16, 2023, which will be accompanied by several guided tours.
